April Ambassador Spotlight

Meet Hunter Hill

Occupation: Benefits Consultant

Organization: Gallagher Insurance, Risk Management & Consulting

When and why did you get involved with BRAC?

I became involved in BRAC at the beginning of 2021 through my employer, Gallagher. I got involved in the Ambassador Program after hearing the success from a colleague of mine who had been in the program for several years. The networking opportunities for young or growing professionals seemed abundant, and I wanted to be a part of that. In addition to internal networking, there was also an opportunity to establish relationships with various companies in the area.

Tell us more about how you are involved in Baton Rouge (job or organizations).

I stay involved in the Baton Rouge community primarily through my employer. We are constantly looking for ways to give back to the community, whether that be through the GBR Food Bank or by having on-site blood drives. On top of that, I stay involved in Baton Rouge through charity 5K’s and the local Cars & Coffee event.

Why do you stay involved with BRAC?

Being involved with BRAC helps me keep up with what’s happening in the community, from economic news to openings of new businesses. As someone who participated in BRAC’s InternBR program, I’ve seen firsthand the impact that they have on young professionals coming out of college, the initiatives they put in place to help keep this local talent home, and their work to build the community to what we all know it can be.

What would you tell someone considering becoming a BRAC investor?

I would tell them that that they will be glad they did. Being a BRAC investor opens your company doors to so many opportunities that benefit both you and the community.

What do you see for the future of Baton Rouge? How will we get there?

I see the future of Baton Rouge on the rise. We will get there by continuing economic development, retaining our top executive talent, and by creating a more connected modern city.

What’s one of the most exciting things you see happening in the Baton Rouge Area today?

One of the most exciting things happening in Baton Rouge today is the launch of the University Lakes restoration project. I’m excited to see the outcome of this project and think it will be a huge success for our city.

BRAC’s Ambassador Program is designed to allow company representatives to actively build relationships with BRAC investors and business leaders while serving as advocates of BRAC’s work.

Each month, BRAC highlights one of these ambassadors in the Ambassador Spotlight. To learn more about the Ambassador Program, visit the program page here.
