September Ambassador Spotlight

Brooks Lawley

Meet Brooks Elizabeth Lawley

Occupation: Commercial Real Estate Agent

Organization: The Hammett Group at NAI Latter & Blum

When and why did you get involved with BRAC?

Within six months of moving to Baton Rouge, joined NAI Latter & Blum commercial and sales division under the Hammett Group and immediately became an active member of the Baton Rouge community.

Tell us more about how you are involved in Baton Rouge?

I stay up to date with market trends and networks with other real estate professionals through various platforms, as well as through local and national charitable involvement. Some of the local organizations I’m involved with aside from BRAC are Forum 35City Club, and the Our Lady of the Lake Foundation, amongst a list of others.

Why do you stay involved with BRAC?

Having only been in Baton Rouge less than two years, I was extremely excited to get involved with BRAC to network and meet new people. My social network was limited to my “other half” and all of his friends and family. I wanted to meet business people and be involved in our community and make the contacts that I need to help others. I love being engaged with our investors and keeping them informed on trends and exciting things that are happening locally in our community!

What would you tell someone considering becoming a BRAC investor?

Invest in your community!  Stay engaged and involved in what is happening in the place you work and do business and help to keep making it the great city that it is.  Why wouldn’t you want to have someone keep you informed about special things happening in your area that could benefit you?

What do you see for the future of Baton Rouge? How will we get there?

I see economic development, advancement in our public education system, solar energy advancement, and infrastructure improvement.

We will get there through commitment from our residents, businesses and those tasked with making it happen. We have to keep them accountable.

What’s one of the most exciting things you see happening in the Baton Rouge Area today?

Seeing new, young people running for office that want to make a difference and have bold, fresh ideas to move Baton Rouge in a positive direction.  BRAC’s Ambassador Program is designed to allow company representatives to actively build relationships with BRAC investors and business leaders while serving as advocates of BRAC’s work.

Each month, BRAC highlights one of these ambassadors in the Ambassador Spotlight. To learn more about the Ambassador Program visit the program page here.
