What does your organization do?

Republic Services provides non-hazardous solid waste and recycling services for commercial, industrial, municipal and residential customers. 

In its internal processes, Republic Services has always prided itself on championing diversity throughout our ranks. This helped lead us to receiving BRAC’s Diversity Star Award in 2018. Additionally, we enjoy working with local nonprofits throughout the area to help them reach their goals in bettering their communities. 

What are some advantages of being located/doing business in the Capital Region?

The industrial growth in the Capital Region is very exciting, and the Baton Rouge Area offers aexperienced and diverse labor pool. And, importantly, but often overlooked when talking about business in South Louisiana: South Louisiana knows how to have a good time! 

Why did you decide to invest in BRAC?

We wanted to contribute to an organization that actively supports and fights for business and the communities in and around Baton Rouge. 

What would you say to companies contemplating joining BRAC?

The knowledge of BRAC staff and leadership about Baton Rouge’s marketplace is invaluable to businesses in the regionBRAC is also dedicated to making Baton Rouge a more positive place for business investment and growth. 

What do you anticipate for your company in the next five years? For the Capital Region?

Republic Services is very proud of its presence in the Capital Region. We are currently investing in our fleet and expanding our footprint across the commercial, industry and municipal sectors around the Baton Rouge Area. For the Capital Region, we are excited about the possibility of much needed infrastructure improvement and the growth of the industrial sector along the Mississippi River. BRAC is an investor-driven organization leading economic development in the nine-parish Baton Rouge Area. BRAC’s investor base includes small businesses, midsize firms, large industry and entrepreneurial startups, as well as other individuals and organizations.
