Baton Rouge Area Chamber accepting nominations for leadership program

The Advocate

The Baton Rouge Area Chamber is accepting applications for its Baton Rouge Area Leadership Program Class of 2019.

The chamber accepts nominees from public and private agencies, corporations, civic and other organizations and individual nominators. A committee of Leadership alumni selects candidates based on demonstrated leadership ability through career or community achievements, concern for the future of the Baton Rouge area and commitment to the program, according to a news release.

The program readies participants for positions of voluntary responsibility in the community, educates on community issues and assets, establishes a communication network and challenges participants to become more involved in community affairs.

Along with the monthly program, class members must visit at least one nonprofit agency, attend a Metro Council or other nearby parish governing body meeting and attend a school board meeting.

Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. May 31. To apply or for more information, visit brac.org/leadership.
