The Baton Rouge Area Chamber has promoted Lauren Hatcher, its marketing director, to a new chief of staff role.

BRAC created the chief of staff position in a restructuring following the departure of its executive vice president and chief operating officer, Erin Monroe Wesley. Wesley was appointed to a cabinet position with Gov. John Bel Edwards’ administration.

“The chief of staff is an important role within BRAC’s senior leadership team, coordinating operational execution of various departments and ensuring a high degree of transparency and accountability to our investor base,” said BRAC President and CEO Adam Knapp.

Additionally, she leads internal meetings and acts as staff liaison to BRAC’s board and its executive, super region and governance committees. Internally, Hatcher oversees organizational processes, as well as performance reporting, contractual services and facilities and equipment.
