The Baton Rouge Area Chamber is again offering InternBR, an initiative designed to provide student interns with leadership and communication skills needed in the workplace.

Participants must have a summer internship in the Baton Rouge area, be enrolled in a college or university and have permission from a direct supervisor. Those selected be notified in May.

The six-week program takes place in June and July and will include skills development workshops, service and social events, and a graduation ceremony. Applications can be submitted by students and employers online at brac.org/internbr through April 30.

Professional communication and leadership topics include behavior preferences and leadership styles, email and workplace etiquette, personal branding and interview preparation. Participants also will experience a service and social event to connect them with young professional organizations in the area.
