Cincinnati, Ohio, selected for tenth annual trip
BATON ROUGE, La. (December 4, 2017) — The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) today announced Cincinnati, Ohio, as the destination for its tenth annual Regional Canvas Benchmarking Workshop. The trip is scheduled for May 20-22, 2018.
“Our Canvas benchmarking trips have proven to be exceptionally productive over the past decade,” said Adam Knapp, president and CEO of BRAC. “The trip allows anyone from the region, especially the region’s current leaders, to explore best practices first-hand, have candid conversation with the change agents behind those best practices, and build stronger relationships with one another in the process. More than anything, it’s an amazing amount of time for our leaders to meet and spend time with one another.”
During the 2018 Regional Canvas Benchmarking Workshop, Baton Rouge Area business and community leaders will reflect upon important policy issues facing the Capital Region and learn how the destination region addresses similar matters.
Session topics during Canvas will include:
- Quality of place and redevelopment
- Innovative workforce initiatives
- Diversity and inclusion in business
- Entrepreneurship and startups
- Creative community investment
BRAC named Cheri Ausberry, director of community development and governmental relations with Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, and Rex Cabaniss, planning and design director of WHLC Architecture, as official chairpersons of the trip.
The Regional Canvas Benchmarking Workshop is an effort by BRAC in conjunction with the Office of Mayor-President of East Baton Rouge Sharon Weston Broome. Business leaders from the Capital Region and surrounding areas are expected to participate.
