BRAC Announces 2020 Virtual Statewide Economic Development Summit Presented by Entergy

Mark Zandi, Chief Economist and Co-founder of Moody’s Economy.com, to serve as keynote 

BATON ROUGE, La. (November 12, 2020) — The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) today announced that, in collaboration with the Regional Economic Alliance of Louisiana (REAL), it will virtually host the fifth annual Statewide Economic Development Summit presented by Entergy on December 8 and 10, 2020. Details and registration available at brac.org/edsummit

“In a year of deep uncertainty and economic turmoil, Louisiana’s eight regional organizations see the importance of learning more about the changing nature of economic development by convening the Statewide Economic Development Summit presented by Entergy,” said Adam Knapp, president and CEO of BRAC. “Our group, the Regional Economic Alliance of Louisiana, is excited to offer the event in a safe, virtual format that will allow economic developers, governmental and community leaders, and business owners the opportunity to share in open dialogue and learn about national trends on economic recovery and accelerating future growth.” 

The two-day Summit will take place virtually, featuring national experts on trends in economic recovery and opportunities for growth. The goal of the Statewide Economic Development Summit is to strengthen the state’s economy through shared ideas and business practices.   

Mark Zandi, chief economist and co-founder of Moody’s Economy.com, will serve as keynote speaker for the event. His presentation will focus on looking past the pandemic and presidential election, leveraging data from Moody’s back to normal index to forecast economic stability for the state and country.
