BRAC Congratulates Paychex on Baton Rouge Expansion

International company announces 100-job expansion

Baton Rouge, LA (May 26, 2016) – The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) congratulates Paychex on today’s announcement of a 100-job expansion at its Baton Rouge location. The international company will retain 60 jobs and add 100 new direct jobs over the next five years at its Sherwood Forest Boulevard facility.

“Today’s announcement is illustrative of the value that professional service firms see in doing national business out of an operations base in the Capital Region,” said Adam Knapp, president and CEO of BRAC. “Through this expansion, Paychex will continue to provide services to small- and mid-sized customers all around the country. It also demonstrates the continued economic strength of the Baton Rouge Area.”

Paychex opened its Baton Rouge location in 1980, its second in the state. The company’s expansion announcement is projected to more than double its workforce presence in Louisiana.

“I’m thrilled that Paychex, with its large corporate footprint nationwide, has chosen to expand its operations right here in East Baton Rouge Parish,” said Baton Rouge Mayor-President Melvin “Kip” Holden.

The retention and expansion of businesses currently operating within the Capital Region is a key focus area of BRAC. Staff lead engagement with existing business and industry to identify and support opportunities resulting in diversification and growth in the Baton Rouge Area.
