The Baton Rouge Area Chamber will host a daylong program showcasing innovation and entrepreneurship during Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week happening Nov. 17-23.

BRAC’s Big Think will be presented by Louisiana Technology Park on Nov. 19 at the Manship Theater inside the Shaw Center for the Arts in downtown Baton Rouge. It’ll feature local and national experts on start-ups and entrepreneurship.

“Entrepreneurship is central to our region’s economic development strategy,” said Adam Knapp, BRAC president and CEO. “The Big Think will bring together resources to support entrepreneurs, host national thought leaders, present compelling local success stories, and highlight emerging trends, as part of the fourth annual entrepreneurship week.”

Among speakers included will be Blake Burris, a national expert on the creation of grassroots innovation communities and the first recipient of Facebook’s fbFund; Diana Branton, chief creative officer and sculptor at Louisiana-based silicone mask maker Composite Effects.

National keynotes will address a variety of funding sources, including crowdsourcing, venture capital, and accelerator financing.

“The Louisiana Technology Park is delighted to partner with BRAC in hosting Big Think as the Capital Region continues to emerge as a destination for entrepreneurship,” said Stephen Loy, executive director of the Louisiana Technology Park. “The convergence of big ideas and entrepreneurial resources is critical to the Tech Park’s mission.  This is an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, and small business owners and leaders to come together to learn and share.”

Big Think tickets range from $45 to $125, however discounts are available for BRAC investors.
