The Baton Rouge Area Chamber today launched a new program designed to help minority business owners in the region who want to take their business to the next level.
BRAC’s Drive Minority Business Accelerator will utilize Interise’s StreetWise MBA curriculum, which uses peer-learning to provide small business owners with the tools and networks necessary to grow and scale. The yearlong, cohort-style program will begin in September 2022.
Drive is part of BRAC’s five-year strategic plan, which identifies “creating a more inclusive economy,” as one of its key goals for the next five years. The idea for the program originated after BRAC’s 2018 Canvas Regional Benchmarking Workshop was held in Cincinnati. During the trip, the Capital Region delegation was able to see firsthand the impact of a similar program launched by the Cincinnati Regional Chamber.
The program is funded through contributions from companies across the region including ExxonMobil, Capital One and Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
At the end of the program, participants will walk away with a vetted individualized three-year strategic plan outlining the action steps required to achieve their business goals. Get more information about Drive from BRAC.
