BRAC Opens Nominations for Annual Awards

Awards to be presented at Shareholders’ Meeting March 27

Baton Rouge, La. (January 22, 2019) – The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) today announced it is now accepting nominations for its annual awards, which will be bestowed at its Shareholders’ Meeting presented by Kean Miller LLP on Wednesday, March 27 at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport Multiplex.

“We look forward each year to celebrating the profound impact an engaged business community has on the success of our region,” said Adam Knapp, BRAC president and CEO. “Our Shareholders’ Meeting is an opportunity to pause and reflect on the power of regionalism, and how together, the business community is driving positive change that benefits us all.”

BRAC invites investors and the business community to nominate individuals and organizations for its Community Champion Award and Business Excellence Award. Details and the nomination form are available online at brac.org/awards. The nomination period will close Friday, February 22. Award winners must be current investors in BRAC.

Award criteria are as follows:

  • Community Champion Award: BRAC presents a Community Champion Award annually to an individual for outstanding contributions to his or her company and above-and-beyond leadership in the community. Recipients also demonstrate leadership, visionary thinking and extraordinary volunteerism.
  • Business Excellence Award: BRAC presents the Business Excellence Award to a business in the Capital Region that is recognized for its demonstrated excellence in 2018.

Award winners will be notified in early March and invited to attend BRAC’s Shareholders’ Meeting. With a toast to the year past, a glimpse into 2019, a tribute to BRAC’s most dedicated investors, and a happy hour that rivals any airport cocktail bar, this is a must-attend event for high-quality business networking.

The event will take place from 4 – 7 p.m. Investors and non-investors are invited to this regional celebration. Registration is available online at brac.org/events.
