To honor standout board members, community leaders, and ambassadors, BRAC distributes annual awards to its investors. This year, award recipients were announced in early April.
For 2019, BRAC’s Ambassador of the Year Award was bestowed on Brooks Lawley, commercial real estate agent at The Hammett Group at NAI Latter & Blum. BRAC’s Ambassador Program was designed to allow representatives from local companies to build working relationships with BRAC investors and business leaders while also serving as advocates of BRAC’s work. Ambassadors help spread BRAC’s mission by educating investors on the many benefits and resources that BRAC can provide for them.
When Brooks became an Ambassador, she jumped straight into BRAC’s mission helping cultivate stronger relationships between Baton Rouge Area businesses and BRAC.
“Since joining BRAC’s Ambassador Program in March of 2019, Brooks has gone above and beyond to encourage BRAC investors to get further involved in BRAC’s work,” said Michelle Mahaffey, BRAC’s manager of business services and Ambassador Program coordinator. “She has participated in numerous visits with BRAC investors and attended an impressive amount of BRAC events and grand openings. Through her exemplary volunteerism, Brooks has proven to be a true asset to the organization, and we are excited to announce her as the 2019 Ambassador of the Year!”
Within six months of moving to Baton Rouge, Brooks joined NAI Latter & Blum’s commercial and sales division under the Hammett Group. This led her to become an active member of the Baton Rouge community. Being a new Baton Rouge resident, she was excited to get involved with BRAC to network and meet other young professionals.
One of Brooks’ favorite parts about being a BRAC Ambassador is engaging with investors and informing them of new trends and exciting things that are happening in the local community. Brooks is also involved with Forum 225, City Club, and the Our Lady of the Lake Foundation, amongst others.
