BRAC’s April 15 COVID-19 Brief: How to bring essential employees back to work after COVID-19 diagnosis

Businesses in essential industries operating in compliance with Governor Edwards’ Stay-at-Home Order have voiced confusion around the proper protocol in bringing employees who have contracted and recovered from COVID-19 back to the workplace. BRAC spent time with Dr. Louis R. Minsky, chief of staff for Baton Rouge General, to provide some guidance.


Healthcare leaders don’t recommend requiring a negative test to return to work, but do recommend “Back to Work” approval be obtained from an individual’s doctor. The CDC outlines clinical clearance recommendations to allow employees to return to work. Those tips and more are included in the interview link above.
