Yesterday, the state began accepting applications for the Louisiana Main Street Recovery Grant Program. The program issues grants of up to $15,000 to cover eligible business expenses, including costs related to meeting public health requirements and costs created by business interruption. Priority will be given to applicants that did not receive federal assistance through August 17. The fund has a target of awarding $40M to minority, woman, or veteran-owned applicants by September 25.
A pop-up center to provide in-person assistance to businesses will be open this week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. The center is at Southern University inside the Valdry Center for Philanthropy at 598 Harding Blvd. Assistance is by appointment only. Appointments are scheduled for an hour, and can be made by calling 225-921-3554 or by emailing info@brnedd.com.
