Today, for a variety of reasons, Black-owned enterprises are more likely to not take advantage of the unprecedented federal financial assistance being offered. However, programs like the forgivable loans through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) can be a lifeline to weather the economic uncertainty caused by COVID-19. No Black-owned business in Baton Rouge should go out of business for lack of access to this financial resource. As part of our pledge to work toward an equitable recovery, BRAC will connect Black-owned businesses to banking or credit union partners to assist them with their application for a forgivable PPP loan.
