IWE Festival, hosted by Councilwoman Erika Green through her Imagination Leads nonprofit organization, is celebrating its third year! We are proud to have Michael Foster, of the Michael Foster Project, as our honorary co-chair through his Keys of Life nonprofit organization. IWE, which is Yoruba for book, is a one-day urban culture festival that boosts a vibrant array of creativity, art, and culture through literacy. This family friendly festival is held at Southern University and brings live music, a children’s zone, a vendors’ corner, and headlining authors to the Baton Rouge and surrounding communities.
