Occupation: Development Officer

Organization: Our Lady of the Lake Foundation

Hometown: Zachary, LA

When and why did you get involved with BRAC?

I began my time as a BRAC Ambassador at the end of 2018 as part of my desire to be a proponent of advancing business in our region. I had a professional goal to be more involved in the community and learn what businesses and events were impacting our region. My work allows me to better our community through philanthropy. Still, I recognize the importance of better business to enriching our city. Serving as a BRAC Ambassador role was a perfect fit.

Tell us more about how you are involved in Baton Rouge?

I was born and raised right outside of Baton Rouge and graduated from LSU. This is my home, and I want to see it thrive and contribute to helping make our region a better place. I get to help make an impact and help have a pulse on what my great city is doing. Serving as a professional fundraiser, I get to meet people and companies that are looking to make a positive impact on health. I feel it is my responsibility as a fundraiser to learn what our state and region is doing in healthcare.

Why do you stay involved with BRAC?

The investors and other ambassadors! I truly enjoy learning about how others are trying to serve their passion and mission. I’m constantly learning about what is happening in our area and making great connections.

What would you tell someone considering becoming a BRAC investor?

As a member of the business community, you owe it to your employees, staff and customers to use your voice and influence to impact their interests. Your support is what makes our region better and by becoming an investor, you’re taking an active lead to better serve them.

What do you see for the future of Baton Rouge? How will we get there?

I see the rapid expansion of accessible healthcare to our communities as the driving force of making Baton Rouge a better place. I am very excited about the expansion of the Health District and positive impact it will deliver to the families in our community. Our healthcare leaders are already making great strides, and I look forward to seeing this huge vision become a reality.  Of course, I am thrilled to add the new freestanding Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital to the district!

What’s one of the most exciting things you see happening in the Baton Rouge Area today?

I’m encouraged by the overall entrepreneurial spirit. Louisiana has always had innovative and hardworking people, and I’m glad to see we are attracting incredible talent and keeping them here. BRAC’s Ambassador Program is designed to allow company representatives to actively build relationships with BRAC investors and business leaders while serving as advocates of BRAC’s work.

Each month, BRAC highlights one of these ambassadors in the Ambassador Spotlight. To learn more about the Ambassador Program visit the program page here.
