February Ambassador Spotlight

Meet Ellen Diedrich

Occupation: Account Executive

Organization: Guaranty Media

When and why did you get involved with BRAC?

In February of last year, I chose to join the BRAC Ambassador Program to network and become more involved in Baton Rouge. With my job in sales at Guaranty Media, it is helpful to know people, and know what’s going on around the city. I graduated from LSU in 2003, but moved away after graduation, only to recently return to Baton Rouge in 2017. I wanted to be part of an organization that would connect me with and expose me to what’s going on in my city. Being a member of BRAC and participating in its events has helped open my eyes tremendously to the cultural, educational, and economic growth and development in Baton Rouge, and makes me feel much more rooted here.

Tell us more about how you are involved in Baton Rouge?

I’m a member of Forum 35, have coached for Girls on the Run, and have volunteered with the Louisiana Marathon, serving as an ambassador for the Kids Marathon. Through my job, I am fortunate to be involved with many organizations, helping to promote fundraising events such as Dreams Come True, and many other local charities.

Why do you stay involved with BRAC?

The networking opportunities are invaluable. But bigger than that, I believe in BRAC’s mission for local businesses to work with each other to make Baton Rouge bigger and better in all areas. When you think about it, we’re all in the business of helping each other, and if I can meet someone and help their business to grow through my own job, or if I can simply introduce them to someone I know that could help them out in any way, I think we all win.

What would you tell someone considering becoming a BRAC investor?

I would encourage anyone to join. BRAC is made up of a vibrant group of go getters; you’ll be inspired to do better being a part of this organization. BRAC has so many benefits and resources to offer businesses and investors. When we, as professionals, can stay connected, involved, and continue to help each other, we will build a stronger Baton Rouge.

What do you see for the future of Baton Rouge? How will we get there?

I feel we’re on our way to becoming a destination city. We’ll keep creating and following through with our visions for economic development and growth. BRAC has an investor base full of like-minded people, pushing towards the betterment of our city. By working to create jobs, enhance our cultural atmosphere through music and art, and continuing to host events like The Louisiana Marathon, for example, we’ll bring more people to our city!

What’s one of the most exciting things you see happening in the Baton Rouge Area today?

Mid City redevelopment! Living in the Mid City area, it is so exciting to see new businesses popping up everywhere. It’s a positive sign of growth for us.BRAC’s Ambassador Program is designed to allow company representatives to actively build relationships with BRAC investors and business leaders while serving as advocates of BRAC’s work.

Each month, BRAC highlights one of these ambassadors in the Ambassador Spotlight. To learn more about the Ambassador Program visit the program page here.
