Five incumbents receive early backing from regional business group
Baton Rouge, LA (September 11, 2023) – FuturePAC, the only political action committee focused on economic growth and development in the Capital Region, announced early endorsements today for several incumbents based on previous voting records, and their support for regional business priorities as outlined in the Baton Rouge Area Chamber’s 2023 election platform. The primary election will take place on October 14, with the general election on November 18.
“These candidates have a proven record of supporting business-friendly policies and are strong advocates for the Capitol Region,” said Helena Cunningham, FuturePAC’s Chairman of the Board. “It takes leadership and a willingness to work on the tough issues facing the state. These candidates have over their time in office been an ever-present voice for improving our state and region.”
Those candidates receiving FuturePAC’s early endorsement are:
- Senate District 2 – Ed Price
- House District 70 – Barbara Freiberg
- BESE District 6 – Ronnie Morris
- BESE District 8 – Preston Castille
- East Baton Rouge Sheriff – “Sid” Gautreaux
Early endorsements were only considered among incumbents seeking reelection to their current office. FuturePAC will have additional candidate announcements in the coming weeks as candidates make their way through the endorsement process.
