When and why did you get involved with BRAC?
I got involved 13 years ago through my employer, Berente Companies. I would attend Leads for Lunch and travel to various communities in the nine parish region for events focusing on network opportunities. I always loved what BRAC had to offer their investors.
Tell us more about how you are involved in Baton Rouge?
My mother and I are “professional cake cutters“! We don’t cook them, we cut them! We are official cake cutters for the Capital City Republican Party Women and Neighbor’s Federal Credit Union. I am an active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where I volunteer as the secretary and market for our church school.
Why do you stay involved with BRAC?
I am proud and honored to hold the position of being a BRAC Ambassador. There are so many networking opportunities, wonderful functions to attend and available resources.
What would you tell someone considering becoming a BRAC investor?
You will be glad you joined BRAC because of the wonderful events, networking opportunities, business concierge services, business resources, introductions to other investors, councils to join, legislative updates, monthly luncheons, grand openings, and the list goes on and on.
What do you see for the future of Baton Rouge? How will we get there?
The future for Baton Rouge is exciting and encouraging with all of the various economic development efforts. BRAC has a vision for Baton rouge to transform Baton Rouge’s quality of life.
What’s one of the most exciting things you see happening in the Baton Rouge Area today?
The local economy is bright with new construction projects such as the downtown library, national entertainment events being booked here, wonderful colleges that are growing, and areas in downtown Baton Rouge revitalized to attract new businesses.BRAC’s Ambassador Program is designed to allow company representatives to actively build relationships with BRAC investors and business leaders while serving as advocates of BRAC’s work.
