Leadership Baton Rouge Alumni (LBRA) is off to a strong start with the 2019-2020 year, focusing on supporting diverse leaders around the Baton Rouge Area who are committed to improving the quality of life in our region. LBRA continues to focus on strengthening relationships, developing programs, and raising awareness of key issues pertaining to our four strategic areas of focus – Education, Race Relations, Poverty, and Transportation and Infrastructure.
We are excited to announce a new event series, the State of the City. This will be a semi-annual event series at which influential leaders around Baton Rouge will present and give their perspective on opportunities to solve or improve key issues in our city and region related to one or more of the above strategic areas of focus. Leaders are invited to join the dialogue and become part of the solution.
Join LBRA on November 22 from 8:30-10:00 a.m. at the David E. Roberts Center for Economic Development (564 Laurel Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70801) for our inaugural State of the City event featuring keynote speaker, Chris Tyson, President & CEO of Build Baton Rouge. Chris is an expert on cities and urban redevelopment, drawing from educational and professional experiences in architecture, management consulting, entrepreneurship, public policy, politics, state and local government law, urban land use, real estate development, social justice advocacy, and law teaching.
The event is free to current Leadership Baton Rouge Alumni members and $15 for non-members. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and participate in the conversation.
LBRA also invites you to attend its annual Holiday Social on Tuesday, December 10 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Louisiana Culinary Institute (10550 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816). Gather with Leadership Baton Rouge Alumni from the best classes over the last 35 years and celebrate with great food, drink and holiday spirit!
