Flavor of the Week: Superfood Snack Bars

Y’all know Baton Rouge loves to eat! Now when you’re getting a hankering for something good you can reach for a snack bar packed with superfoods. LSU professor and neuroscientist Joseph Francis has launched Pranam Superfoods “antioxidant bars” that are available in four different delicious flavors.

The snack bars are a concoction of quinoa, antioxidant-rich fruits, nuts and a splash of honey. To make it even better they’re all organic, gluten-free and vegan-friendly! Thanks to the LSU AgCenter Food Incubator Francis was able to get his superfood snack bars into eight stores in the Baton Rouge Area and seven other stores around the state.

Have you seen a Pranam bar in your local grocery store? Take a picture and tag it with #thinkBR for a chance to be featured on the BRAC blog.

My Baton Rouge: Baton Rouge Headed to the Big Screen

An indie thriller shot in Baton Rouge had its moment on the silver screen this past weekend at Austin’s SXSW festival. The film, “Darlin,” stars Scottish actress Pollyanna McIntosh (known for her role in The Walking Dead) and New Orleans actor Bryan Bett (known for his role in Mad Men). The movie was filmed throughout the city and even based its production out of the Celtic Media Centre

This isn’t the first time the Red Stick has been featured on the big screen. Baton Rouge has been host to movies like Pitch PerfectGreyhoundCaptain Marvel, and more. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled when moving about the city, you never know when you might see a celebrity!

A booming Hollywood scene right in our backyard, that is my Baton Rouge.

In the “My Baton Rouge” section of the newsletter, we feature people or events that help tell the story of Baton Rouge. To submit an idea, email talent@brac.org.
