Meet Brinkley Anne Maginnis
Occupation: Sales and Marketing Specialist
Company: SERVPRO of East Baton Rouge / Ascension Parish / Downtown Baton Rouge
When and why did you get involved with BRAC?
I became involved in BRAC in 2017. The reason I became involved in BRAC is because I love my hometown of Baton Rouge! I wanted to become more directly involved with the economic growth within our city, so when Michelle Mahaffey Lejeune presented the opportunity for me to become one of BRAC’s Ambassadors, I signed up immediately!
Tell us more about how you are involved in Baton Rouge (job or organizations).
I am a member of:
The Ambassador Program for the BRAC,
Member of BRLA (Baton Rouge Lodging Association),
Member of SME (Sales and Marketing Excellence),
Member of the Baton Rouge Metro PHCC Plumbing Association,
Member of the LFCA (Louisiana Fire Chiefs Association), and
Member of FORUM 225
Why do you stay involved with BRAC?
Being a cheerleader for my hometown city is an honor! I stay involved with BRAC because of its people! I have so much in common with my BRAC Ambassador colleagues and we thrive on not only helping each other but also helping/supporting/getting the word out to our red stick citizens on all the new companies and businesses who are choosing Baton Rouge to open their offices, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, etc.!
What would you tell someone considering becoming a BRAC investor?
It’s a no-brainer to help you grow your company within our city and to help you put your company on our map. Just do it!
What do you see for the future of Baton Rouge? How will we get there?
For the future of Baton Rouge, I see opportunity. I see our current graduates wanting to stay here to grow their careers. I see our past graduates coming back to their Red Stick to open companies. I also see Baton Rouge as a final landing pad for folks beginning their retirement.
What’s one of the most exciting things you see happening in the Baton Rouge Area today?
Mid City! I grew up in the Garden District and moved back to it a few years ago. To see the Garden District somewhat rebranding itself as the trendy “Mid City” is so exciting for someone my age! Mid City is quickly becoming one of the hot spots in town to live, work and play. Watching our old abandoned buildings becoming restored and refurbished (and many doing it with the help of our local artists) is absolutely stunning!
Brinkley is this year’s winner of BRAC’s Ambassador of the Year Award. BRAC presents the Ambassador of the Year Award to a BRAC Ambassador for his or her outstanding achievements within the Ambassador Program and for his or her exemplary service to and overwhelming support for BRAC’s work.
