Meanwhile, over at BRAC …

The Baton Rouge Area Chamber released its election platform for candidates this week, while the chamber’s FuturePAC has announced which candidates it is supporting for Metro Council.

BRAC is asking all mayor-president candidates to pledge to oppose future efforts to create the city of St. George; to demand public school excellence (although the mayor plays no role in overseeing schools); and to hire an experienced and professional chief administrative officer to run government operations.

The chamber outlined six major issues it says it wants candidates to focus on: improving transportation infrastructure, building trust in law enforcement and reducing crime, building education and workforce opportunities, pushing economic growth opportunities, making government services operate more smoothly and finding ways to improve Baton Rouge’s physical attractiveness.
