With a revitalized downtown buzzing with live music, dozens of museums, and art galleries; some of the best libraries in America; and over 180 parks which offer free activities ranging from rock climbing to paddle boarding lessons, there’s always something going on in the Baton Rouge Area to keep your calendar full. 

Check out a few events happening around the region this month: 

December 6: Christmas Bazaar 

Support local makers at the Clinton Christmas Bazaar happening all weekend long. There will be good food, great Christmas finds, and fun for the whole family. 

December 8: St. Joseph Catholic Church Winter Wonderland Food Festival 

Experience a taste of all the food French Settlement has to offer at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Winter Wonderland Food Festival. There will be a wide selection of dishes, craft booths, free activities for children and a classic car and truck show. 

December 9: Jambalaya Festival Association Christmas Parade 

Get in the Christmas spirit by attending the JFA Christmas Parade at 1 p.m. in Gonzales. The parade will feature bands, marching groups, floats and more. 

December 13Wayne Toups 

Grab your boots and head down to the Texas Club for Wayne Toups’ classic Cajun sound that will be sure to get you on your feet. 

December 14: The Nutcracker: A Tale from the Bayou 

Twirl on over to the Raising Cane’s River Center for The Nutcracker: A Tale from the Bayou—a classic ballet with a Louisiana twist. Tickets are now on sale for December 14 and 15 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. 

December 21: Baton Rouge Arts Market 

Soak in Baton Rouge’s best local art at the Baton Rouge Arts Market at St. Joseph’s Cathedral on Main Street. Vendors will be selling their handmade goods such as pottery, blown glass and handmade soaps. Looking for more events to fill your days?
