Roaming the Region

With a revitalized downtown buzzing with live music, dozens of museums, and art galleries; some of the best libraries in America; and over 180 parks which offer free activities ranging from rock climbing to paddle boarding lessons, there’s always something going on in the Baton Rouge Area to keep your calendar full. 

Check out a few events happening around the region this month: 

February 8: Mardi Gras Mambo 10K, 15K and 1 Mile Fun Run 

Throw on your running shoes and head to downtown Baton Rouge for the Mardi Gras Mambo 10K, 5K, and one-mile fun runThe fun run kicks off at 8 a.m. with the 10K and 15K following at 8:30 a.m. 

February 12: Wine Tasting at Randazzo’s 

Head on over to Randazzo’s in Denham Springs for a wine tasting on the second Wednesday of every month. The event is free and a great way to sample the Italian wines sold at the restaurant.  

February 16: Mid City Gras Parade 

Kick off parade season with the Mid City Gras Parade that travels down North Boulevard. This year’s theme is League Under the Sea.  

February 21: Krewe of Southdowns Mardi Gras Parade 

Travel back to the ‘20s with the Krewe of Southdowns Mardi Gras Parade that travels through the middle of the city beginning at Glasgow Middle School.  

February 22: O’Reilly’s Cajun Monster Truck Nationals 

Speed on down to the Lamar Dixon Expo Center for O’Reilly’s Cajun Monster Truck Nationals to see the most daring and iconic drivers in Monster Trucks. 

February 29: Basic Woodworking: Build a Tool Tote 

Spend your extra day of 2020 learning a new skill. The West Baton Rouge Museum is hosting skilled artisan Terry Landry who will conduct a series of woodworking workshops.  Looking for more events to fill your days?
