With a revitalized downtown buzzing with live music, dozens of museums, and art galleries; some of the best libraries in America; and over 180 parks which offer free activities ranging from rock climbing to paddle boarding lessons, there’s always something going on in the Baton Rouge Area to keep your calendar full. 

Check out a few events happening around the region this month: 

October 5: Baton Rouge Arts Market-Main Street 

Pick out the perfect decorations for the Fall at this monthly arts market in downtown Baton Rouge. 

October 17-20: Hollydays 

Crazy to think that the holiday season is about to be in full swing! Get your shopping done early and support a good cause by shopping at Hollydays this year with the Junior League of Baton Rouge 

October 18-20: Harvest Festival 

Enjoy carnival rides, games, live music and a beer garden for the adults at this year’s Harvest Festival in Pointe Coupee. 

October 19: Great Pumpkin Celebration 

Head to Cabela’s in Gonzales for a spookily good time all week at its Great Pumpkin Celebration. They’ll have photo-ops, crafts, games, and even trick-or-treating come Halloween night. 

October 19: 9th Annual Baton Rouge Halloween Parade 

Everyone knows Louisiana loves a good parade! Celebrate Halloween and give back to the Baton Rouge community by bringing a non-perishable food item to donate to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. 

October 20: French Settlement Creole Festival 

Celebrate Creole heritage in French Settlement at this all-day festival featuring a cornhole tournament and a mini-pot cookoff. 

October 25: All Hallows Eve @ Audobon 

Enjoy the age-old tradition of All Hallows Eve at the Audobon park with storytelling, pumpkin carving, apple bobbing and more! 

October 26: Yellow Leaf Arts Festival 

View artwork from over 55 different artists at this year’s Yellow Leaf Arts Festival in St. Francisville.
