With a revitalized downtown buzzing with live music, dozens of museums, and art galleries; some of the best libraries in America; and over 180 parks which offer free activities ranging from rock climbing to paddle boarding lessons, there’s always something going on in the Baton Rouge Area to keep your calendar full.

September 7: Bogan Firehouse Arts Market
Enjoy an indoor arts market at the Bogan Firehouse in Baton Rouge where you can browse jewelry, artwork, and skilled craftsmanship.
September 13: Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day
Celebrate being halfway to St. Patrick’s Day with a pub crawl, live music, green everything, and a bagpipe performance! Ticket fees will benefit the Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area and the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
September 13: Art-Ish Live Music, Art, Fun
Take in live music, good food, a night of dancing, and art all around at Port Allen’s Village at Huns Grove.
September 14: Hummingbird Festival
Birdwatch at the National Wildlife Refuge for its Hummingbird Festival. Admission is free, making it the perfect way to explore the outdoors!
September 19: Gubernatorial Debate
Get informed with the first Gubernatorial Debate hosted at LSU’s Union Theatre.
September 27-September 29: Ascension Hot Air Balloon Festival
See the state from up in the air at the Ascension Hot Air Balloon Festival. There will be live music, food, games, and of course a plethora of hot air balloons to look at and even ride in!
September 28: Fall Market at Fine and Dandy
Get your fall decorations just in time at Fine and Dandy’s Fall Market in Gonzales.
