Gov. John Bel Edwards and the state Economic Development Department secretary head the list of speakers for the Statewide Economic Development Summit set for April 18 at L’Auberge Baton Rouge.
The event is the first of its kind in 10 years, according to organizers. The summit’s goal is to strengthen the economy through shared ideas and business practices.
The Baton Rouge Area Chamber and the state’s regional economic development organizations helped put together the summit, presented by Entergy Corp.
In addition to Edwards and Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Don Pierson Jr., the all-day event will include a presentation by U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development and Chief Operating Officer for the Economic Development Administration Matt S. Erskine and a technology panel of firms from around the state.
